Hats Off To Mimi!

Technical Difficulties... Stand By...

That's what happens when you try to load tons of adorable baby movies onto a 4 year old computer. We have so many movies to post, but we're having trouble getting them loaded properly. So, stand by!

Friends + Felt = Fun!

Last weekend, we went to Austin to visit some of our favorite girlfriends. Thank you Auntie Michelle, Auntie Angelique, and Auntie Em (Why did we not get a picture with you? I'm kicking myself.) for the girl talk, fabulous cupcakes (!), and memories of my favorite city. We miss you all!

My Baby Is 5 Months Old.

My Bay-bey is 5 months old. Most of my house plants turn brown in less than five months. I have to admit I'm worried for her.

In some ways, taking care of Amelia has become second nature. I usually know what she wants and needs and I can usually provide it. Her sleep, despite it's complete lack of consistency, is plentiful enough for me to become refreshed so that I can have the patience it takes to be a Mama. (All the Mamas just shook their heads. Babies sleep to grow, but they also sleep a lot because they are so much darn trouble when they are awake. It's the Universe's way of rewarding our hard work.)

Even though things are becoming more settled and normal though, I feel the real work is about to begin. Amelia is developing so quickly (and is clearly an advanced child) and it scares the crap out of me. She is already in crawling position (as you can see in the last picture) and can scoot herself quite well backwards. I don't mean to sound like an ungrateful jerk, but I really wouldn't mind if she just slowed down and enjoyed being a baby for a little longer.

Let the baby-proofing begin!

Literacy! It's FUNdamental...

My mom was here for 10 days to help me watch the little booger face while I made a bajillion costumes. We went to the bookstore one afternoon and got Amelia a bunch of new books. She loves reading and can even help turn the pages!

She also likes licking the pages- they should make flavored books I think! Hmmm...

I just love the serious look on her face!

Sit Mimi, Sit. Good Mimi!

We're so close! Amelia is almost ready to sit on her own! Momma can't wait. Baths are gonna be so much more fun when she can sit up in the tub.

Rrrrrrrr, Mimi!

Amelia loves growling like her favorite canine, Greta. So, I didn't expect this reaction from her...

If you listen closely, you can hear her little wheezy, allergy nose. Poor baby!

Kickin' It Wit The Punkins...

Here's a little video of Amelia at the pumpkin patch. She really liked kicking the pumpkins!

A Girl And Her Dog...

Kenny and I are lucky enough to have 2 beautiful girls in our lives- Amelia the baby and Greta the pup. They are so cute together and we're sure they'll eventually become the best of friends.

Greta is still a little unsure of how to act around Amelia. She definitely has a nervous personality to begin with and throwing a whole new person into the mix is a lot for her to digest. But, I think she's adjusting surprisingly quickly. The hardest part is teaching her to enjoy the baby without getting too close (and licking her on the lips. Ugh- Greta just can't understand why ANYONE wouldn't want to be kissed on the lips!)

I was afraid Greta was going to want to chew up Amelia's toys but she's doing so well learning what toys are and aren't hers. We have only had one casualty so far!

Happy Halloween!

Amelia's costume didn't get to us in time, so I whipped up a sushi romper for her at the last minute. I was shocked and delighted that she was perfectly happy to keep her headband on!

I'm a lucky lady to have such an adorable baby and handsome husband!

More Pictures In The Patch...

Wardrobe change. This is one of my favorite outfits- given to Amelia by Grandma and Grandpa Aellig. It's size 3 months and will be too small soon. Also, I thought the green would be so pretty against the orange pumpkins. I had to get some pictures of her in it and this was perfect!
